About This Test
Time is a flat circle, and some faces come back on every loop. True Detective's first season redefined crime TV with two of them: Rust Cohle's hollowed philosopher stare and Marty Hart's everyman denial, followed by seasons of haunted detectives.
The case file lists more than the two leads: Liz Danvers, Evangeline Navarro, Ray Velcoro and Wayne Hays are in it too. Open it with a photo and see whose face is yours.
Our AI analyzes your photo to find which of these 10 characters you resemble most. Powered by deep-learning face recognition, you get instant results to share with friends. Your photo is used only for analysis and is never stored.
Featured Characters
These are the characters you can be matched with.
A detective who interrogates suspects and the universe and time itself. "Time is a flat circle," he'll insist. He sees the darkness more clearly than anyone, and walks into it anyway.
A police chief who gets through the polar night on sarcasm and bad decisions and denial that this town has ghosts. "Wrong question" is her catchphrase and her armor.
A state trooper who never let go of the Annie K case. She carries her sister and her ghosts and the ice itself on her shoulders. The night country keeps calling her name.
A retired professor living alone on the ice. She sees the dead and takes it remarkably in stride. She knows where the bodies go. She sent one there herself.
A detective who mortgaged his soul for a favor decades ago and has paid interest on it ever since. A bolo tie and whiskey breath, and one desperate love: his son.
A rookie who does Danvers' homework, defies his father, and loses his innocence with every assignment. The night country charges tuition, and this young man pays in full.
Danvers' stepdaughter, finding her Iñupiaq roots in a town that buried them. Every protest sticker on her wall is a conversation her stepmother avoids.
An Arkansas detective haunted by a single case across three timelines. As a young tracker, as a buried detective, and as an old man losing the memories that hold the answer.
A passed-over cop living on a mail-order-fiancée fantasy and a lifetime of grudges. He files away every humiliation, and one day that file gets opened.
Rust's partner, the "regular guy." The trouble is that his regular life is burning in silence. He preaches family values and practices none, and it takes him 17 years to see what was in front of him.
